Fantastico is unable to connect to your MySQL server at this time. Please contact your host for assistance.

Same problem here.
Mysql server is fine. Re-installed Fantastico, still the same.
Please update us.

Im running Fantastico on CPanel 11.2.11 with MySQL 5.x and am getting the same error despite running Fantastico 2.10.2 r43 which says it has the fix for the problem
any ideas whats going on?

oh ok  any planned eta on this as we are right in the middle of upgrades to a lot of servers to cpanel 11 and all fanstastico's are broken |

We are still in constant communication with the developers of cPanel (this is a cPanel issue as you might have known by now). We will release a patch as soon as it is made available to us. |
